BADIA SAN VERIANO
About a km in distance, with a walk for about 20 minutes, you reach Castelluccio, Badia San Veriano. Here you will find a beautiful church. The geographical position and its structure make it a very fascinating place.
The construction of this church traces back to 100 ad as a Benedictan monastery with Byzantine, Roman and Ravennate influences. It is assumed that from the Benedictine monastery is became
Camaldolese in the years between 1105 and 1113.
The present building is made up of a rectangular room ending with three semi circular apses of almost the same height and one to the other. On the left side the remains of the cylindrical bell tower. The crypt beneath is original and striking.

Arezzo Arezzo has Etruscan origins, we already know that in the IX century bc there existed an Etruscan Arezzo with a name resembling the present name: Arretium.
In the following centuries it became a city of strategic importance. The grounds of Arezzo have given birth to many important people: Guido Monaco, Francesco Petrarch, Giorgio Vasari, Michelangelo Buonarroti are among the most famous. Between 1418 and 1420 Piero Della Francesca was born, his works are admired also in Arezzo, in the cathedral and in the Basilica of San Francesco to Monterchi and Sansepolcro.

Camaldoli
Camaldoli (m 814) with its retreat (m 1111), in the heart of the centuries old casentinese forest, is made up of half of the easy and suggested ways. The Hermitage, created by San Romualdo in 1012, was characterized for its cells, everything equal and separated one from the other, in which the monks were voluntarily enclosed.

LA VALTIBERINA
Glancing from Badia San Veriano to the East you admire the Valtiberina and intrasees the Diga di Montedoglio.
The high valley of Tevere, or Valtiberina, is the most eastern strip of Tuscany and carries the name of the river which crosses the whole length, up to the border with Umbria. Valtiberina was the border and together the meeting point for different cultures, Umbra and Etrucan, Byzantine and lombardian.
Monterchi
The medieval village sits on a place which in the Roman Etruscan time was dedicated to the Ercole cult, Monterchi was above all known because it conserves the famous fresco of "Madonna del Parto" di Piero della Francesca (XV sec.).
In the church of San Simeone you are able to admire other buried works of art.
Anghiari
It is located in the tip of the hills that ties onto the Western tall valley of Tevere, situated in the slopes of the hills that that surround the Western high valley of Tevere, Anghiari unchanged conserve in the oldest parts, the medieval characteristic.
In '500 outside the old castellian walls a beautiful road on a steep slope was built and also a framed square from buildings of noble architecture.
In the church of badia built in a Romanic style and on an octangular level, in the medieval church of Sant'Agostino and in the council offices you will find valuable works of art. At the foot of the hill, the church of Santo Stefano is one of the most beautiful ancient buildings on the ground(VI century.).
Caprese Michelangelo
It is famous for the birth of Michelangelo, this castle is almost in tact with a perimental structure, within which the headquarters of the municipality and the podesta house, today the Michelangelo museum. Following up modern restorations, the oldest wing of the building and today the exhibition room of reproductions of the natural works of Michelangelo.
Inside the museum or environment in the green, conspicuous works of art of major contemporary sculpturers that make up the heritage of the museum dedicated to the summed up artist.

Pieve Santo Stefano
It is the old Sulpitia of the Romans.
The medieval set up has been strongly damaged by the peacetime events (Municipality office and Palazzo Pretorio) with coats of arms in stone or robbiana workshop. Robbiana tables are also in the collegial with the interior in a Latin cross. The 6th century sanctuary of the madonna del Lumi is very noticable.
Sansepolcro
Sansepolcro dominates the tall valley of Tevere placed at the foot of the last track of the Tuscan Appenines disclosing the large and harmonic hill anphitheatre. It is possibly a hill amphitheatre. It is probably Roman; the city has a serene and harmonic face.
The internal urban structure of the surrounding war of the city has remained medieval, enriched with precious Baroc and Renaissance buildings. The artistic heritage, well know, is principally put in the Civic Museum, where you can admire the politics of the “madonna della Misercordia” and the “Resurrection” of Piero della Francesca, the artist born in this city at the beginning of the XV century. Badia San Veriano is very near to the border of Umbria, the medieval town is Citerna about 2kms from Monterchi.
